Small Mercies

  • The Toronto Public Library and its incredible digital assets available to anyone with a library card.
  • The Pie Commission's delicious meat or vegetarian pies delivered frozen to your door.  Pop them in the freezer and bake at will.  Almost as good as going out to dinner.
  • Mildred's Temple Restaurant and its famous buttermilk blueberry pancake .
  • FaceTime for playing with my grandchildren, spending time with my daughter and son-in-law and chatting with friends.  (I'm completely over worrying about what my hair looks like....)
  • My two-year stack of New Yorkers.  So glad they're here now.
  • Jamie Oliver's new, seat-of-the-pants, brilliant series to help us cook our way through, no matter what we have or don't have on hand.  Jamie's Keep Cooking and Carry On.  You can find it on YouTube and the CTV Drama Channel.
  • Canada Post - Order stamps online and have them -- you guessed it -- mailed to you.  Mail is one of the ways I can reach out to friends and family.  Everything old is new again.
  • InstaPot -- I (sadly) now have time to learn to use the thing, previously gathering dust.
